Not sure i undertood, but I thought you used a 13x18 camera like [link] but I don't think because I doubt that your objective covers this format even if there is not rear lens !?:)

Why did you removed the rear lens ?

Jupiter 8m - lens for a 35mm camera with a small back focal length. without rear lense its back focal length is equal to ~20 when focusing to infinity. generally without the back lens you can shoot on large format.
